David Josh Miller is a freelance Trumpet player, Music Arranger, and Teacher. Currently, he works professionally in Los Angeles and throughout California, performing regularly and recording with The Tina Turner Tribute by Debby Holiday, with Liquid Blue and Boombox Heroes (Top-40's event bands), with Little Willie G (Latino Soul legend), and formerly with The Winehouse Experience (Amy Winehouse tribute band), as well as with other bands, across genres. He has performed in the U.S. and around the world, including gigs in Las Vegas, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, Austin, and Portland, OR, on cruise ships in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, and on tour in Taiwan, Europe, and Australia.

 

Happiest when he’s playing trumpet, David is passionate about all genres of music, performing and recording horn-driven Rock, Pop, Latin, Ska, R&B, Soul, Funk, Big Band/Swing, Jazz and Classical. A fan of high-note trumpet, he has been in the role of Lead Trumpet in many bands. Before moving to LA in 2015, David performed regularly in the PDX music scene, in musical theater, and in Show Bands on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruise ships.

 

In addition to performing and recording, David also writes charts, arranges, orchestrates music, and teaches. 

 

David appreciates the teamwork involved in playing music. He’s generous with his time and knowledge, dedicated and dependable, and loves nothing more than to talk music and equipment with his fellow musicians. Whatever he’s doing, David is known for his professionalism, integrity, and sense of humor.

 

David completed a Bachelors of Music Performance degree at the Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) in March, 2020, graduating summa cum laude. Privately, he has studied trumpet with Wayne Bergeron, Willie Murillo, Howie Shear, Bryan Lipps, Mic Gilette, and Arturo Sandoval.

 

When not playing music, David enjoys life in North Hollywood, hanging out with friends, seeing movies, playing video games, and sampling LA’s international cuisine.
